Advanced Juniper Networks Wireless LANs (AJWL)
Length: 4 days
Course Overview
This is a four day advanced training course on the Juniper Networks Wireless LAN Services (WLS) system. The course is designed to build on the skills learned on the IJWL course and take students to the next level of expertise as a Juniper Networks wireless design, implementation or management engineer.
The course describes best practices guidelines for planning an enterprise wide Juniper Networks WLS system with its flexible domain architecture. Best practices for advanced security are presented as are the issues to be considered when deploying voice and mesh services. Centrally managed architectures are also presented. The course includes a look at some advanced troubleshooting techniques.
The course uses a combination of lecture and practical exercises to ensure a high level of hands-on experience with Juniper Networks WLS HW and SW components, advanced authentication options and other advanced features.
Objectives
After successfully completing this course, you should be able to:
- Understand the design factors that must be taken into consideration when planning an enterprise WLAN system.
- Understand the requirements for Wireless LAN security, for optimum support of voice services and for Wireless LAN Mesh solutions.
- Plan RF coverage for data and voice services in a multi-storey, multi-building environment.
- Configure secure Wireless LAN services using digital certificate-based authentications and machine authentication.
- Understand the issues for the remote management of APs and AP Controllers.
- Troubleshoot all aspects of a deployed WLS system.
- Configure voice optimized services.
- Build a Wireless LAN Mesh network in single-hop and multi-hop scenarios.
- Deploy and manage remote APs using the AP Controller auto-configuration capability in NAT’d and non-NAT’d architectures.
Target Audience
This course benefits individuals responsible for planning, configuring, managing and monitoring devices on a Juniper Networks wireless network.
